Alicia Johnson
Grade 1-3
I was born in Riverside, CA and grew up in Ashton, ID. I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2001 where I enjoyed the amenities of the east coast until 2014 when I moved back to Idaho Falls, Idaho. My husband, Ron, and I have been married for almost 13 years and have one son, Ethan, who is 12 and the heart of the family.
I graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. Teaching has been a huge part of my life as I taught Pre-Kindergarten for 13 years at a private education center in Raleigh, and for the past 8 years teaching Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten and First Grade at Holy Rosary in Idaho Falls.
I love to watch my son play hockey and basketball, and teach him how to cook. If I’m not spending time with my family, you can find me reading, enjoying various outside activities, or perusing the aisles of Target.
I cannot wait to teach the students at Alturas and keep learning and growing with them. Each day is a great adventure in learning and I can’t wait to go on it with my students. Growth mindset and the power of yet show students they can do hard things, and I love when they have that feeling and pride of accomplishment.
“The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.” – Mark Van Doren
