Anita Garcia
Grades 4-5
Anita Garcia was born in Idaho Falls. She lived here until she graduated from Skyline High School. She met her husband while attending the University of Idaho and lived all over the United States while he served in the Navy. She has 3 children ranging from 17 to 22 years. She enjoys hiking, camping, knitting, and reading.
Mrs. Garcia obtained a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science through the University of Idaho in 2001. She became involved in education while her children were in elementary school. In 2016 she obtained her teaching certification through American Board.
She has taught for 8 years in Idaho Falls, teaching grades second through sixth. Mrs. Garcia coordinated the school wide science fair with each grade, completing experiments using the scientific method. She was a Title 1 Intervention tutor for 5 years with District 91 where she used the latest research to implement lesson bases on the student’s specific needs. Mrs. Garcia also served as a Grade Level Junior Lead with District 91 where she assisted building and district administration in providing core curriculum training and support for teachers. She is excited to be joining the team at Alturas International Academy and helping each student reach their full potential.
